travel
You can fly into San Francisco International (SFO), San Jose International (SJC), or Oakland International (OAK) which is the furthest. Driving time from San Francisco International (SFO) to Santa Cruz is about 1 to 1.5 hours, and from San Jose International (SJC) is about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
It is easiest to rent a car (it is the States, after all), although it's possible to Uber or take a shuttle service to Santa Cruz. Uber service is pretty decent in the area. We will have a shuttle running from the hotel to/from event locations. Note that you cannot drive or Uber directly to the venue, and you must take a shuttle in. See Shuttle note above.

things to do
While the area is famous for its surfing and laidback, quirky culture, there's tons to do and discover. Here are just a few ideas based on us visiting the Santa Cruz area over the years.

Our favorite nature spot. Go on the 1-mile trail at Henry Cowell State Park and check out California's iconic redwood trees.

Be a kid again at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk—rides, games, and the beach. Here's us back in 2013!

Check out Seacliff Beach, a nice beach to hang out at on a sunny day. Dog-friendly.

Hang out at Capitola, a charming beach town. Get tacos and eat them by the beach or check out beachy-themed shops.

Grab ice cream at Marianne's—a Santa Cruz local shop. The "1020" is our favorite flavor (caramel with fudge and oreos).

Take a surf lesson or just go bodyboarding at one of the many beaches around. (Here's us around Labor Day weekend 2015!)

Visit Downtown Santa Cruz, with various shops and restaurants. Local spot Verve Coffee is a great place to take a break.

Take a train through the redwoods on historic preserved trains at Roaring Camp. Has a historic Western-themed town.

The Mystery Spot is a campy and touristy attraction where you can see gravity-defying illusions.

Natural Bridges State Beach where Monarch butterflies migrate to and an iconic natural bridge rock formation.

If you're here early, go camping (either full-on glamping or scrappy bike camping). We can give you tons of tips :)

Your presence at our wedding (and braving the twisty highway that is CA-17) is enough of a gift for us. If you'd still like to give a gift however, we'd love for you to contribute to our future (later this year or next year) honeymoon to Japan, or a few upgrades for our home.
rsvp
You can RSVP using the button below. While we kindly ask that RSVPs are due by May 17th-ish, if you're invited we'd obviously love it if you can make it, even if it's last-minute. If that's the case, please shoot us an email or text.
